Self-Discovery Through Writing

A Guided Journaling Workshop

Picture

Writing allows you to see yourself in a new light.

You start off not knowing what you'll find. Then, as the words flow out onto the page, something emerges that you didn't know was there. Thoughts and feelings become clearer; you start to see things — and even yourself — in a new light. That's the power of writing, and it's exactly what Self-Discovery Through Writing is all about.

This immersive one-on-one experience guides you in using journal writing as a tool for exploration, self-discovery, and understanding. Gain clarity as you reflect, write, and delve into your own inner life in a way that's enlightening, revealing, and personally rewarding.

Who is this workshop for?

No matter what your starting place is, this workshop is for you! Whether you're new to journaling and not sure where to start, or you're a seasoned journal writer wanting to deepen your practice or try something new, you'll benefit from the guidance, structure, and support this experience provides.

It's all about your self-expression and self-discovery.

Nothing about this experience is rigid or forced. Feel free to add drawing or other artwork to your journal writing if you like. It's all about your self-expression and self-discovery.

There are no rules or restrictions, no pressure, no standards to meet, and no need for perfection — just come with the willingness to write and see where the words take you.

Get a behind-the-scenes peek at my writing as I share from my own personal journal!

A journal writing practice that's still going strong after 45 years.

My journal has been a place of rejoicing during the good times, and a refuge holding me steady during the bad times.

I've always loved journaling and my journal writing practice has been going strong for more than 45 years! Journaling was a joy and passion of mine long before it became a wellness trend; it has brought me immense joy and satisfaction over the years. Self-Discovery Through Writing is my way of sharing those benefits with you.

My research into the benefits of journal writing for mental health and emotional well-being has led to conversations with leading voices in the therapeutic journaling field like Kathleen Adams, director of the Therapeutic Writing Institute and the Center for Journal Therapy. I've written about journaling for Social Work Today Magazine, and developed my own collection of journaling guides to inspire aspiring and seasoned journal writers with creative writing approaches.

Journaling holds a very special place in my heart and my life. I can say with confidence that if you give yourself permission to write freely from an honest place, something of value is bound to emerge.
